The Face Behind The Blog

Hi there! My name is Franzi and I’m the writer behind The Introverted Solo Traveller. As the name suggests, I usually travel solo and I’m an introvert. I’m also close to being a crazy cat lady with three lovely little fur babies.

Not only am I an introvert, I would even call myself an HSP (highly sensitive person) which can make travel even a little bit more challenging as we suffer from overstimulation and exhaustion at times.

My Story

Blogging & Travelling Abroad

Living in France, Japan, the UK, and back in Germany

Travelling has been my biggest passion for 20 years now. My family didn’t travel much when I was growing up as we couldn’t afford it, so I moved to other countries rather than just travelling there.

This started with a 6-month stay in France near Montpellier, followed by 13 months in Japan during my Bachelor studies, then I moved to the UK to be with my boyfriend, and now I’m living back in Germany with my three cats. And originally, I’m from Germany.

How I Got Started Blogging

I’ve been travelling as an introverted solo traveller for so long and I love advising people on travel plans, that I thought I should put my knowledge out there, so other introverts know what to look out for while travelling.

My Mission

  • Help introverts have great solo travel adventures
  • Provide advice and reviews, so you know what to look out for
  • Share unedited photos without me in them, so you get the real feel for a location

My Experience with Travel

As I mentioned before, I love to move to new places to really feel like a local. However, I can’t move to every country in the world as I would never be able to settle down. So I started travelling properly and I never stopped.
